Clean Burnt Stainless Steel Pan
Soak the burnt stainless steel pan, loosen residue with hot water, dish soap, and baking soda, then scrub gently and dry thoroughly.

Steps
Step 1: Soak the pan
- Fill the pan with hot water and add a few drops of dish soap.
- Let it soak for 15–30 minutes to loosen burnt residue.
Check: The bottom residue looks softer or partially lifted. · The water is no longer cooling immediately on contact with the pan.
Step 2: Simmer with baking soda
- Pour out some water if needed, leaving enough to cover the burnt area.
- Add 1–2 tablespoons of baking soda.
- Place the pan on the stove and simmer gently for a few minutes.
Check: You can see residue loosening from the surface. · The mixture is simmering gently, not boiling violently.
Step 3: Cool and scrub
- Turn off the heat and let the pan cool until safe to handle.
- Scrub the pan with a non-abrasive sponge or nylon brush.
- Focus on burnt spots using circular motions.
Check: Most or all burnt residue comes off without heavy force. · The pan surface feels smooth in previously burnt areas.
Step 4: Treat stubborn spots
- Make a paste with a small amount of baking soda and water.
- Apply it to stuck spots and let it sit for 5–10 minutes.
- Scrub again gently until the marks lift.
Check: Dark spots are fading or fully removed. · You are not needing sharp tools or excessive pressure.
Step 5: Rinse and dry
- Rinse the pan thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry it immediately with a clean towel to prevent water spots.
Check: No soap or baking soda residue remains. · The pan is clean, dry, and free of loose debris.
