Boil Pasta
Bring a pot of water to a boil, add pasta, cook until tender but still slightly firm, then drain and serve.

Steps
Step 1: Boil the water
- Fill a large pot with water, leaving some space at the top.
- Place the pot on the stove and turn the heat to high.
- Wait until the water reaches a full rolling boil.
- Add salt if desired.
Check: The water is bubbling vigorously across the surface. · The pot is not so full that it may boil over.
Step 2: Add the pasta
- Place the pasta into the boiling water.
- Stir immediately for a few seconds so the pasta does not stick together.
- Keep the water at a steady boil.
Check: The pasta is submerged in the water. · The pasta is moving freely and not clumping together.
Step 3: Cook until done
- Cook the pasta according to the package time range.
- Stir occasionally during cooking.
- Taste a piece near the end of the cooking time to check texture.
Check: The pasta is tender but still slightly firm in the center. · The pasta is not mushy or stuck together.
Step 4: Drain and serve
- Turn off the heat when the pasta is done.
- Carry the pot carefully to the sink.
- Pour the pasta and water into a colander to drain.
- Serve as desired.
Check: Most of the water has drained away. · The pasta is cooked and ready to eat.
